Mount Hayden
The view from the North Rim’s Point Imperial, the highest point on either rim at 8,803 feet, is dominated by Mount Hayden—a thick spire comprised of Coconino sandstone. This fine-grain capstone is a remnant of a vast desert that covered the region some 260 million years ago.
