Havasu National Wildlife Refuge, Spring_002-Enhanced-NR

Havasu National Wildlife Refuge is for the birds! It’s also for recreation enthusiasts. Located between Parker and Lake Havasu City, AZ, this spot is along a popular migratory route for hundreds of species of birds. It’s also a hot spot among thousands of visitors who flock to the refuge for boating, kayaking, canoeing, waterfowl hunting, and fishing.

History & Nature

The refuge protects 30 river miles and 300 miles of shoreline from Needles, California, to Lake Havasu City, Arizona. One of the last remaining natural stretches of the lower Colorado River flows through the 20-mile-long Topock Gorge.
